June marks an exhilarating milestone—we’re officially one year old! It’s been a full trip around the sun filled with handcrafted cocktails, cozy velvet couches, and unforgettable evenings spent connecting with our vibrant community. To celebrate, we invite you to our tiki-themed anniversary bash on Friday, June 21st from 2-11 PM. We’re celebrating in style with music, performances, tropical drinks, and festive energy from afternoon into night. We’re dialing up the tropical vibes with festive décor, island-inspired cocktails, delicious food, and an entertainment lineup that turns the whole day into a party.
Live Performances
DJ Al-Ski Love | 2–6 PM: His high-energy sets blend house, soul, funk, boogie, old-school hip hop, Motown, 80s dance, and rare groove. His infectious rhythms will keep the afternoon bumping and spirits high.
Miss Candice | 7–9 PM: This celebrated jazz chanteuse and cabaret performer brings vintage glamour to life with a tiki twist. Her sultry vocals, theatrical presence, and nods to jazz’s golden era (1920s–1960s) promise a performance as unforgettable as the year we’re celebrating.

Queen’s Park Swizzle: A rum-forward gem from Trinidad, crafted with aged Demerara rum, lime juice, simple syrup, fresh mint, and Angostura bitters. Swizzled over crushed ice until the glass frosts, it’s equal parts refreshing and potent.
Saturn: A silky-smooth gin-based cocktail born in 1967, featuring falernum, lemon juice, passionfruit syrup, and orgeat. Bright, citrusy, and elegantly tropical—this drink is pure summer in a glass.

Mixology Spotlight: Clarified Milk Punch
Clarified milk punch is a centuries-old technique that’s made a stylish comeback in modern mixology. Dating back to the 1600s, the process begins with a traditional punch—spirits, citrus, sweeteners, and often tea or spices—then adds milk, which curdles and captures impurities. Once strained, what remains is a crystal-clear cocktail with a silky texture and mellow, layered flavor.

Our new extended hours mean more room for spontaneous happy hours, leisurely late nights, and everything in between. Whether you’re slipping in after work, gathering with friends, or simply indulging in a great cocktail moment, our doors are open—and the mood is just right.

June 12th (5-10 PM): Vinyl Night – Held every second Thursday of the month. Bring your favorite records, enjoy analog sound, and sip your favorite cocktails in great company.
June 18th (6:30-8:30 PM): Italian Summer Wine Tasting – Hosted by Katie from Haw River Wine Merchant. Explore a handpicked selection of bright, summer-inspired Italian wines. $10 at the door. Charcuterie cups will be available for purchase.
June 21st (2-11 PM): Bird’s Nest at Blackbird Anniversary Party – Our one-year anniversary celebration with DJ Al-Ski Love (2–6 PM) and Miss Candice (7–9 PM). Tiki vibes, festive bites, and tropical cocktails all day long!
June 25th (6:30-8:30 PM): Cook’s Mill Whiskey Tasting – Mixology expert Kelly Murphy shares the story behind North Carolina’s own Cook’s Mill Whiskey. Free to attend, with specialty Cook’s Mill cocktails available for $15.
June 26th (6:30-8:30 PM): Rosé Tasting – Hosted by Proof Distribution. Sample fresh, vibrant rosés like Seehof 2024, Hild “Rosemarie” 2024, and biodynamic Beurer 2024. Tickets are $10 at the door.
July 2nd (6-9 PM): Silent Book Club – Join fellow book lovers for a peaceful night of reading, cocktails, and quiet connection. Bring your current read, enjoy some solo time, then mingle afterward. This event is held on the first Wednesday of each month.
